What a joyful and Spirit-filled evening this past Sunday!
A group of 14 from Kingdom Living Church—12 youth and 2 adults—came to serve dinner at the WFC, pray with our guests, and lead a heartfelt sing-along.
Their kindness and energy reminded us all what Christ’s love in action truly looks like.

Today we remember the darkest day in history — the day Jesus gave His life for us.
It had to happen so that we could be saved. He bore the weight of our sin, took our place, and made a way for us to live with Him forever. 🙏

💙 Last week, our Health Services Supervisor, Dinae Chichester, had the honor of representing our mission through an impactful training session with Saint Luke`s Health System. She presented "Trauma-Informed Care When Basic Needs Are Missing" to an incredible group of nurses, medical staff, social workers, law enforcement, and interdisciplinary professionals across the Kansas City area.
When individuals or families experience homelessness or lack basic needs, they are often navigating deep trauma. Dinae reminded us that even one day being homeless is one day too many—and one day too many to be without compassionate, trauma-informed care.
She shared the 6 foundational pillars of Trauma-Informed Care:
1. Safety
2. Trustworthiness & Transparency
3. Peer Support
4. Collaboration & Mutuality
5. Empowerment Voice & Choice
6. Cultural, Historical, & Gender Issues
At the core of our work is this truth: Trauma-informed care isn’t just what we do—it’s how we do it. We create spaces of safety, build trust, offer support, and walk alongside each person as they find their voice and reclaim their story.
This is the culture we foster as we share the transformative love and healing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. 💛
